Lindsay and Jonathan first met in college and years later said ‘I do’. With the bride dressed in an elegant Romona Keveza gown and the groom in a debonair black tux, their wedding day was filled with family, friends, and beautiful, stylish touches like the absolutely gorgeous bridesmaid dresses, breathtaking bouquets and flowers cascading down the cake designed by Barb’s Cakes, and ‘Somewhere Over The Rainbow’ being played on the violin. Read our interview with Lindsay and get inspired by her special day.
How did you meet the groom?
I met Jonathan at a party the summer before senior year of college at Alabama. My best friend and roommate at the time was dating Jonathan’s friend and invited me to the party. We started dating shortly afterward. It was perfect timing because we got to spend our senior year of college together.
How did you decide on your gown?
I knew exactly what I wanted and was lucky enough to have found it the first time I went looking. It was the 4th one I tried on at Ivory and White and I just knew it was the one.
Tell us about your bridesmaids dresses.
They are Amsale from Bella Bridesmaid in the color “slate.” I loved how romantic they looked. I wanted my bridesmaids to feel beautiful and there to be a chance they might wear them again.
What did the groom and groomsmen wear?
They wore basic black tuxes with no tails.
Tell us about your flowers?
The color scheme was white, pale blue and green. I worked with Hot House Design Studio and had hydrangeas, cymbidium orchids, white roses and dusty miller.
Tell us about any unique details that made your wedding special.
We had violinist, Karis Lamb Wilson, play throughout our ceremony which was absolutely beautiful. We had her play “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” in memory of my grandfather. It was a special song that we shared.
